Hey there my bread lover fidus achades!

As we open our packet of bread what’s the instant action? Do we choose to eat right from the first slice or we discard moving on to next? Have we ever asked ourselves , if ever we discard, why so?

The 1st slice of bread – rough, dull , amorphous, unpalatable, left off, chucked – nobody wants it (perhaps; except you and me)

Almost 91% of the people skip the 1st slice according to a survey. Ahem! Why? Because it looks hard and ugly to them. The 1st slice ultimately ends up with feeding pets, birds or animals or at times garbaged, if you were in India. Perchance; in many countries ( do correct me if i am wrong).

Actually, No one pays keen heed to the unsurpassed sacrifice by the 1st slice. The moment the bread is out of the hot oven, it keeps protecting the rest of the bread from heat and moisture. It batters the journey from the bakery to your table, rounds of changing hands and crates; ensuring that your mouth savors the softest bites, irrespective of the fact that it gets rejected .Not to mention , it has maximum fiber, nutrients and a distinct taste too( i reckon).Indeed, some heroes come in packets too.

1st slice of bread is a personification of true example of a leader. 1st one to face the music and last one to exit, taking all criticisms in failures while in victories, the entire team gets the merit. It’s always about leading at the front or on top notch. Imagine as you open a packet and remove the first slice, the rest starts collapsing one by one , just like a Dominoes deck. De facto, the 1st slice is indeed – A captain of the ship.

Endurance, patience , core competency( literally) , empathy , courage… pretty much more… a true leader’s credentials is what the 1st slice of bread exhibits.

“A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.” – Douglas MacArthur

Life is germane to. soul searching( self discovery) , leading is germane to. Preeminent Verve towards complete betterment and upliftment for one and all ; making strides to progress. So,

If you want to be a exemplary leader, alter to the 1st slice of bread.

By the way , do you know who invented the concept of sliced bread and first ever bread slicing machine? Am sure you all are ready to rush to Google for this fact finding… an interesting history we all must know.

Haere ra!

-Jimmy

P.S:- This concept , and comprehensive guidance is from a dear friend.Further to this , Ive put my inputs and polished it as per my understanding.
